Bosphorus Toastmasters is a club based in Istanbul for people who want to practice and improve their public speaking and communication skills. It is a part of Toastmasters International which has more than 357,000 members in 16,600 clubs spread around 143 countries. Toastmasters International was founded in 1924 by Ralph Smedley and is a world leader in communication and leadership development. Our Bosphorus Toastmasters club was born in July 2015 by a split of the Istanbul Toastmasters club. We meet every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month at 7:30pm and are always happy to have guests join our meetings.

 

The world needs leaders. Leaders head families, coach teams, run businesses and mentor others. These leaders must not only accomplish, they must communicate. By regularly giving speeches, gaining feedback, leading teams and guiding others to achieve their goals in a supportive atmosphere, leaders emerge from the Toastmasters program. Every Toastmasters journey begins with a single speech. During their journey, they learn to tell their stories. They listen and answer. They plan and lead. They give feedback—and accept it. Through our community of learners, they find their path to leadership.
